Tish, thank you for the 5 star review, nice comments and supporting JFM. We appreciate the support and sharing JFM with family, friends and community :).
If you stick with one of vendor and you go there a lot they get to know you and you get better deals and bargains. And they are open during the weekday with better prices. I spent 15 Dollars and got enough vegetables for a month.
I really enjoyed it there yesterday and so did my niece and my mom was there as well and she enjoyed as well
Business response:
Angel, thank you for the comments, 5 star review and sharing JFM with family, friends, and community. Word of mouth is our best advertising. :)
Yes, you have to ask for prices--they're not posted on the products. However, if you're looking for peppers, for example, you need only ask two or three vendors to figure out what a fair price is and to figure out who has the best quality for the lowest price. One vendor was pricing his at $1 each and 3 for $2. Right next to him the price was 50 cents each, but the higher priced ones looked better, so I bought them. If you really want a bargain, buy a case for $10.
I LOVE THE SEAFOOD MARKET THEY ARE THE BEST. IF YOU WANT BIG AND SALTY OYSTER GET THEM HERE. I WILL NOT BUY OYSTER ANY WHERE ELSE AND I LIVE IN GLEN ST MARY BUT THE DRIVE IS SO WORTH IT. THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY PARTY A GREAT TIME. EVERYONE THAT I KNOW KNOWS ABOUT YOU AND WILL BE COMING TO YOU FROM NOW ON.
Business response:
Brenda, thanks for sharing your story with our community and your family and friends. We always enjoy hearing about great experiences with our vendors. Hope to see you back often. Be sure to check out all of JFM for similar opportunities on other food items. Happy New Year. :)
For the 9000th time in the last 20 years I was over charged. It is the only market on planet earth that doesn't display pricing. Completely sets up dishonesty. One of the two quotes you one price and when things are totaled the other one rings it up higher. Display pricing or I will drive a few minutes to Freshfield Farms or Fresh Market for the premium produce not the seconds sold at the market for not that much difference in price.
Business response:
Pete, we appreciate your feedback and would ask that you immediately report any such vendor to one of our JFM managers, Greg or Mitch, while visiting JFM or by calling the JFM office at 904-354-2821. We have never had this complaint made to us before. Our vendors are often reluctant to post prices regularly due to offering so many products that are subject to frequent price changes due to market conditions, ripeness, variety, quantity purchased, etc along with the obvious competitiveness of having several vendors close by. Started coming here in the early 1970's selling watermelons and cantelope, greens, beans, okra, squash, and corn from Dad's farm. Things have changed to be more family friendly instead of mainly commercial business. Many of the people know me and every one of then are nice and friendly. I like eating breakfast in the restaurant, the seafood market is really fantastic, and we get fruit and vegetables by the crate to can ourselves. Today I got greens, smoked meat, honey, chow chow, peppers, and pole beans.
