Online Scheduling was easy. Dr. Gerken saw me on a Tuesday for a fracture and I was scheduled for surgery that same Thursday. Post op Questionnaires have been sent everyday including weekends asking about my pain level, and if I have concerns they are answered same day. The young gentlemen in the cast room (Brandon) is so kind, and made funny jokes because I was so nervous. He made me feel comfortable, and at ease when removing my surgery staples. Great doc with exceptional bedside manner. I've been here more than once and each time felt confident, comfortable and we'll treated.
I couldn't recommend a doctor any more highly than Dr. Gerken, as well as the entire team. I had a very pesky tib/fib fracture that required a rod and screws, and then due to the location of the injury and the limited blood flow to that region of the body, I actually required a 2nd procedure called a bone marrow aspiration to stimulate bone growth. Had surgery for multiple breaks in my lower leg. Dr Gerken took great care of me. The surgery was handled really well. This was my first time with full anesthesia and I was a bit nervous. But the whole process was nurturing and easy. I was put under anesthesia in the pre-op area and woke up back there after surgery. The anesthesiologist also took time to talk with me and I let him know that my body is pretty sensitive to medication as I rarely take any. Whatever he gave me was perfect.
