Treatment Outcome I went to Dr. Rouse at the beginning of the year for what I thought was a tailors bunion. After a X-ray and his exam, it was concluded that it was inflammation due to my my gait and ambulating. According to Dr. Rouse, I was compensating by bearing more weight on my lateral part of my foot due to severe arthritis on my great toe. His solution was a shoe insert to correct my weight bearing and ambulation . As a nurse myself, I did not feel comfortable with the complete diagnosis and treatment of a shoe insert... read more
I saw Dr.Touse 2-years ago, in late summer. He needed to do 5-surgeries on my left foot. In addition to these surgeries, I also needed to have “drop foot surgery .” He refused to agree with us,and another surgeon that I had seen previously in the same office! Because, he refused to include the drop foot surgery with his other 5-surgeries I needed, I simply postponed my surgeries all together! I have had a near fatal head injury and had an emergency Craniatomy on 4/13/1980. As a result I was totally paralyzed on my left side ... read more
I was in an accident and injured my foot. The hospital wanted me to have another x-ray for my foot. Dr. Spitzfadden from Dr. Rouse Ofc saw me and took the x-ray sent me to get CT scan and then Dr. Rouse nurse called within a half hour said Dr. Rouse would see me on Friday and surgery was scheduled for Monday. I had a severe injury where my toes were separated from my foot, called a Lizfranc fracture. Dr. Rouse wasted no time to save my foot. He did a very successful surgery and I have my foot back and can walk again. If he h... read more
Called to make app. with Dr. Rouse. Staff asked normal pre-visit questions (name, address, ins. carrier, plan ID, ailment, etc.) and then they requested my Social Security (SS) #. I asked why they needed info. and she said we can't set an app. without it. (Not much of an explanation) Told her I was not comfortable giving my SS #, she said..."well, we can't set an appointment". I checked with the AMA, they recommend that you NOT give med. providers your SS number. I suspect the only reason they demand your SS # is to assure t... read more
Dr. Rouse is fantastic and his office staff is as well. My family has seen him for 1 Achilles tendon repair, 4 various broken foot bones, one navicular surgery and a poroneous brevis repair. His manner is always personable and other doctors I know say he's THE foot guy.
I have seen Dr Rouse twice in the last five or six years- His diagnosis each time was quick, factual and very helpful. He referred me to a specialist (Sole Control, Inc) and they were very quirky but took care of my problem and I live nearly pain free for another day!
Dr. Rouse is a very competent and trustworthy surgeon, however his bedside manor and willingness to talk and explain things to patients is lacking.
