I was run over by an SUV while in a crosswalk, severely injuring my foot, skull, and left side. Discharged from the ER with unclear instructions, I sought help the next day. Upper East Side Orthopaedics was able to see me, but they insisted I needed a referral which I later learned was incorrect. I explained my situation and that my ankle and foot were run over by an SUV tire. I asked if they were sure they could see me with such a traumatic injury. They assured me they could.
