excellent flavors – I really like Andiamos, for the pure and simple fact: their food is exellent. Though I find their portions a bit too small for the pricetag, if you ask for a refill on your breadbasket, you might actually be full after an appetizer and your meal. This is the closest to real Italian food I have tasted in the Detroit area. Yes, there will be a wait on the weekend, yes, they are not cheap, yes, the service could be friendlier and faster, but the taste of the food makes up for it.
Excellent food and atmosphere – This is truly a gourmet dining experience. Having lived in Italy, I am always wary of "authentic" Italian restaurants, but this food is REALLY good. True, there are long lines to get in on weekend evenings, and true, the service may not always be perfect (though I can't complain, we had lovely service), but the food makes up for all of the drawbacks. Excellent service, fine dining, real italian! – This restaurant, advertises its supreme italian cooking, and it's no lie. A beautiful ambience accompanies a fine menu, with excellent selections of pastas, veal, and various poultry. The seafood is excellent also. Great for a romantic date, or small group gathering.
Don't Believe the Hype!!! – If you go to Andiamo's be sure to bring low expectations so your not disappointed. The food is consistently cold, slow/poor service, overpriced, and lacking in the food quality you would expect for an uplevel Italian Restaraunt. Even though it is extremely overpriced, the protions are undersized. Thank You Andiamo's – Andiamo Italia has brought back to Detroit the excellence of fine dining I could only enjoy in downtown Detroit 40 years ago. They link fine dining with great entertainment at a cost that is a real bargain. Downtown Detroit could take a lesson from Andiamo's if they are sincere in bringing back an atmosphere that attracts conventioneers. Cudo's to Joe and the entire Andiamo Team.
Very Nice – Consistant food quality and service is excellent. Outstanding place for lunch and entertainment on weekday's in the bar is a plus. Great for people watching at times... Great for throwing small or large parties in the front or the back..
Great food, OK service, long lines – Great food. Service is hit or miss, mostly miss. I highly recommend making reservations on the weekend nights or busy nights because this place gets packed.
