Calcific tendinitis in my right shoulder from weekend warrior tennis caused me not to be able to lift my arm without pain. My orthopedic doctor gave me eight exercises with stretch bands which I did religiously. Over a five month period he also gave me two shots in the shoulder and mentioned the possibility of surgery to scrape the calcium deposits out if it didn't get better... which it didn't.
