I took my ACR ResQLink PLB (Personal Locator Beacon) into Anchor Marine Electric in Victoria for battery replacement service at a total cost of $237.25 (including taxes). They broke the clip that secures the wraparound antenna in place and refuse to take any responsibility for it. They didn’t even have the decency to tell me that they had broken it, I had to spot it myself when I picked it up at their counter. More recently (2025), I had more work done on my vessel from a different technician and his advice and work was again great. Still 5 star! During these crazy pandemic times, its been so hard getting good trades lined up. I explained my unique situation to the owner of Anchor Marine Electric and my deadline, and they squeezed my not-so-small project in. Do not go to this place. All they want to do is sell you new electronics and have no interest in actually helping a customer. I asked if they could repair an autopilot head unit, they opened it and said yes. Then they took several weeks with it. I finally called them asking for an update, and within minutes of calling received a quote for a new system and a bill for a bench test service, which included taking apart the head unit and returning it completely unassembled.
