I Love this Place!! – The ambiance is beautiful. One of the most visually stunning restaurants in the area. The lighting and mood is just right. In addition to soft sounds of the live band playing upstairs in the comfortable lounge area. Great place for special occasions or a romantic evening out!!.... Good wine list and the food has been wonderful on every visit . Get the Lamb.. its awesome!!

Great Decor – The decor in the restaurant is amazing - it's very elegant, classy and romantic. Service is usually good, and the staff is very friendly. The food is great, though portions could be bigger.

ANA MANDARA – The first time that I went to Ana Mandara was with a group a friends and my husband. We went there to celebrate our wedding (City Hall...nothing fancy) and I was amazed with the scene. It was like going somewhere OUT of San Francisco.....it was romantic. The food was fantastic!

THE SOCIAL BUTTERFLY – Ana Mandara truly depicts the definition of "Beautiful Refuge". It is the ultimate in Gourmet dining and Romantic atmosphere. It gets my vote as the all time Great Romantic Gourmet Restaurant in San Francisco.

Strange 'Hood, Good Chow – Aside from the fact that a hip Asian restaurant seems out of place in a mostly touristy neighborhood (Fisherman's Wharf), overall it delivers enjoyable cuisine in an exciting and interesting setting. Hard to find a weak point on the menu (and we shared lots of dishes). The soft underbelly is probably the service, which had its flaws (the English skills of the waiters are weak). However, this is more than compensated for by the food and the decor. Who needs to eat in hip neighborhoods anyway?

Island of Beauty in Tourist Area – This place is wonderful. Peaceful, service is fantastic, food is delicious. Menu and wine prices are very expensive but worth it.

Worth the Effort – Tired, from driving all over creation and walking the other half, we had just checked into a hotel near the airport. Our flight was leaving early the next day, the end of a weekend jaunt to SF from Houston. Neither my wife nor I were in the mood to drive back through town to eat, but this was the first weekend in several years, so we said, "Lets make the most of it. The restaurant caught my eye on our walk that morning. We drove back down and it was an outstanding meal (Basa with Spicy lemon sauce and the ... read more

passed the test – Dad, a big wine guy and lover of fine food, was in town and we were looking for an impressive place for dinner. This fit the bill. Got a few great bottles, marveled at the fantastic flavor combos (and attentive service) and laid down the gauntlet for Dad's next visit! Even enjoyed the jazz combo with our nightcap upstairs in the bar. Hurrah.

Taste bud delight – We were looking for something extraordinary and found it. Not only was the food excellent and quite different from the normal Asian fare one finds in Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese Pho restaurants, but the setting was beautiful and the service excellent. Don't forget to order the special Ana Mandara Rice, a delicate blend of flavors steamed in banana leaves-who knew rice could be exciting?
