Fine Vietnamese Dining and Lounging – I'm always on CitySearch for restaurant/lounge suggestions. I've never written a review before, but can't deny that Ana Mandara and the Cham Lounge are absolutely worthy of one. I agree, the food is expensive, but remember you are also paying for the ambience, service, and menu selections. If it's not in your budget, please don't go. The dishes are very tasty. I've dined there at least five times and appreciate the service. The cocktail selections are delightful. The lounge seating is in... read more

Great Date Spot – My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary. The ambiance, food, and service are top-notch and we would definitely come back again. It's the perfect place to go on a date because you could always walk over to Ghirardelli Square right after.

Not Worth the Moolah – While the ambiance was exotic and the service efficient, I have to give Ana Mandara a poor rating as the food was terrible and grossly overpriced. The meats did not taste fresh and the flavors and textures were not thought out. Complete tourist trap.

Wonderful Setting For All Occasions – Our group of 5 were thrilled with our experience at Ana Mandara. We enjoyed fabulous, fresh and unusual cocktails in the upstairs bar before dinner. Sharing the appetizers, entrees and desserts inspired our appreciation while the magnificaent interior created a romantic setting. Our waitor was quite informed and perfectly attentive. We all enjoyed the wine selection and left feeling uplifted, happy and absolutely satisfied. We all intend to return and will recommend to friends. Thanks!

Perfect evening – Entering the resteraunt from a busy day at the office and a struggle fighting the traffic, i was immediately relaxed by the beautiful setting of a dreamy vietnamese courtyard at dusk. Live jazz music came from the upstairs balcony and bar area. My party and I were treated like royalty by the excellent service staff. Our waiter was charming, sophisticated and knowledgeable about every aspect of the fine menu. I fully recommend this oasis of elegance.

our recent dinner – We were at Ana Mandara for dinner during one of my recent trip to San Francisco. We were early for our reservation, but got seated promptly. The ambience was nice and the service was great. The food was too expensive though. We had soft-shelled crab for appetizer, which costed $16 and consisted of one crab cut in half. The garlic noodle came without the Chinese chives or bean sprouts. My beef tenderloin was too salty. We had the mango spring rolls for desserts, which was good. Other than that, it was gene... read more

Dinner review – The food tastes good, but is very overpriced. None of the items on the menu is specialty item, but they are charging a lot for it. Their "crepes" and "noodles" can be purchased from any asian markets for less than a dollar or two. Ambience is excellent, and the service is not bad. They got one of our orders wrong, but it was corrected very quickly.

LA Style with SF food! – There aren't many concept restaurants done up in LA style in SF. This is one of them. It's opulent. Other than Gary Danko, one of the only good reasons to head to the Wharf to eat. An inspired cocktail list, and healthy wine list make this a good choice for foodies and winos alike! It's on the expensive side, but given the presentation and the taste, it's well worth it. Lobster ravioli? Wow. Calamari with crushed peanuts? Yum! Duck breast with banana blossom? Outstanding. I'm getting hungry again jus... read more

Pleasantly surprised – Ate here for lunch. Restaurant nearly empty. I was pleasantly surprised that a restaurant in the touristy Fisherman's wharf area is serving such tasty food. Especially when considering it's owned by celebrities. The dungeness crab soup is delicious as is the mango soup dessert. Those are 2 dishes not to miss. Entrees were less impressive though solid. Reasonable pricing for the SF area as well. Will definitely return.
