We recently stayed overnight at Ana Mandana and it was an excellent stay. Leo is the consummate host, so easy to talk to and he immediately made us both feel at home. We elected to have dinner in-house, which enabled us both to have a few drinks with dinner. Leo cooked us a restaurant quality meal of barramundi with vegetables followed by cheesecake and berries with cream. Google describes this as a 4 star hotel. Booking.com describes this as a 5 star bed and breakfast. Both descriptions are generous. This is just a room in Leo’s house. We were expecting a hotel based on all of the marketing and websites. A room in Loe’s house is a different experience than a hotel with all of the problems that come with a room in Leo’s house. We would not have booked a room in Leo’s house if we knew it was not an actual hotel or at least a bed and breakfast which is somewhat like a hotel. We had prepaid so we... read more
A fabulous place to stay. It's on the Hastings River so the views are terrific. Leo is a one in a million host. His breakfast is always excellent and if you do dinner, you'll be amazed. He's a former chef so he knows what he's doing. Highly recommend this wonderful place.
Really can’t recommend the Ana Mandara Luxury retreat enough. We have been travelling for a while in Australia and this is was the nicest place we stayed at by far which I wasn’t expecting given this hotel is listed as a 4 star, when it was far superior to many of the 5 star hotels we stayed at.
