You will feel dismissed and like you are inconveniencing Dr. Lizama at every visit. She is very cold, detached, and doesn't know how to communicate outside of medical terminology to help you understand everything. She ignored my issues and blamed other doctors. When I mentioned a specific area where I felt pain, she said (full quote, no paraphrasing) 'No, I don't think so.' I highly recommend you find a different neurologist as soon as possible.
Dr. L is extremely thorough and a very good neurologist. She listens well and explains next steps. In my case she’s treating migraine headaches that I have had for 30 plus years. Migraines have improved to a point where I know longer get headaches when symptoms come on.
She is too quick, extremely rude and unsympathetic towards her patient. She’s not reassuring but rather makes you feel anxious and unsettled. She also scolds you if you have to reschedule an appointment etc. Unfortunately in life schedules change and appointments need to be rescheduled especially when they are made months in advance. We all do not have consistency in our schedules. I would not recommend her to anyone seeking neurological advice. She does not say hello or try to see you as a person or even get to know you. Dr. Lizama is blessing to me! I came to her for hemifacial spasms of motor nerves. During a whole-body exam, she found undiagnosed neuropathy of my toes also. With precisely dosed & placed facial injections every 3 mos, I see better, feel more normal. Pain ointment for my feet has brought an amazing end to the worst of the severe, crippling pain awakening me in the middle of the night. I can now sleep most of the time. She is caring, skilled, professional.
Dr. Lizama has been treating me for Cronic Migraines and several forms of Dystonia for a couple years now and has been able to help me in ways no other Neurologist ever has. She is extremely good at what she does and has always been kind and curtious and so has her staff. I would recommend her to anyone needing a Neurologist.
I found Dr. Lizama to.be both professional and helpful.
It took a long time to get an appointment, but Dr. Lizama was very thorough and polite.
I saw Dr. Lizama 2 times. There was a question of if I had MS. My first visit, she seemed very concerned, did a thorough exam and promised we would get to the bottom of this. Second visit, she was dismissive, unconcerned, spent 7 and a half minutes with me, refused to make a follow-up appointment, refused to tell me anything, refused to answer any of my questions. P.S. I do not have MS. I have Pernicious Anemia which has left me with permanent nerve damage due to the delayed diagnosis.
Front office cancelled appointments with no notice. No process to follow up with MEMORY patients, even after a lapse of one year. Medical assistance staff did not run a full meds check or explain medications and what they are for. Expected patient to understand dosages and drug interactions. Doctor was unable or unwilling to provide progressive protocol for early onset Alzheimer's, opting instead to refer out. Willing to document the patient's decline, but unwilling to fight it.
