Amy saw my daughter in the pediatric ED last night for a laceration that required sutures. She was very straight forward but kind in explaining the plan to myself and my daughter. She had the child life specialist come in to help go over the procedure in terms my 5 year old daughter could appreciate and that understanding helped my daughter sit perfectly still even as Amy was suturing right in my daughter's line of sight, sometimes the suture string even brushing her eyelashes given that the cut was so close to her eye. I was unhappy with the bedside manner of this NP. My 11yr old daughter was not taken seriously or examined properly. The first hour we were there was spent trying to get a urine sample because they wrongly suspected a UTI. They refused to do anything else until we provided this. My daughter simply didn’t need to pee (as she had barely eaten or had any liquids due to pain) but I helped her hobble to the bathroom multiple times to try anyway. Facility was nice and they got us right back to a room. My son has had high fevers, some vomiting and diarrhea for 3 days. My 13 month old waited two hours to be seen by a doctor. After vitals were done they told us they would swab him for the flu. They never did. Once the doctor who was actually a nurse practioner came in, Amy Graf, she told us it was a stomach bug.
