AMR is a rip off. My wife had to call 911 because I had collapsed a couple weeks after completing. The dispatch sent AMR, which apparently doesn't have a 'contract' with my Insurance provider, Priority. So I was balance billed 2500 for <1 mile ambulance ride. I've been going back and forth with Priority and AMR with no solution yet. Next step is legal action, I suppose.
I was out of state visiting Michigan when I had a serious injury and an ambulance was called for me. I provided EMR with my insurance information from the state that I live in which covers 100% of emergency service services out of network. AMR took my information from out of state and ran it in the state as if it was an in-state insurance. I cannot speak highly enough of these people. I'm not that good at words. So frikn kind. And funny. And empathetic. And hard working. And like hilarious in all the right moments. Initially I thought they're so young! I'm gonna scare them! But na I'm just old, their intelligence and wittiness and job skills, just super impressive! Good job all around. Might be a good idea to not have your Techs, on duty, walking the concourse at Van Andel gets, holding hands. Just a thought
PSA about AMR if you send your loved one to the hospital ER with this company make sure they have your loved ones name because if your loved one can't give their name because of dementia they will dump them at the hospital with no name and when you come looking for your loved one where you told AMR to bring them the hospital will say they have no one in the hospital system by your loved ones name BECAUSE AMR was not able to give the name either & don't bother calling AMR to ask where they brought your loved they will stand o... read more
