The view of the falls is amazing but the stairs are plentiful so take a few breaks!
Have visited numerous times. The falls are the main, but not the only, attraction. The Appalachian Trail effectively starts here, at the approach trial archway near the top of the falls, though Springer Mountain is the official southern terminus. The view from the Lodge is awe-inspiring. Dine in at the Lodge and you might be seated at the table shared by Redford & Nolte in a scene in "A Walk in the Woods."
Great views. Well worth the price of admission.
