I caution anyone who is touring/interested in placement at the Credit Mills memory care community. Amica charge a full refundable deposit of $1000 for an assessment - payable by credit card. Unfortunately due to their high price for care we had to decline the room for my mother. Now 30 days later I am still waiting on my refund which I have been advised will come by archaic method of a cheque. Amazing place to work.
We live in TH10 at Amica Stoney Creeks because my husband needed a wheelchair friendly home. The carpeting in our unit was new when I moved in on Sept 25, 2023. My husband arrived in late December 2023. The carpeting already looks quite worn especially where we sit. When I vacuum fills it up with lots of 'fluff' from the carpet. Given the very high rent cost I would have thought that quality would have been a consideration. It wasn't. I can't take photos from my computer.
I have been trying to get a refund for a deposit of almost 3 months. We were told and signed paper work that said this type of refund would take 2-4 weeks. Deposit made by credit card, and we are now waiting for the 1990's technology of a cheque being cut to refund, but that's 2 months of empty promises. No way of reaching anyone at head office either. Terrible business practices.
