This is a great place to take your pets. I have been going here for many years. The doctors and staff are compassionate and knowledgeable. They truly care for animals and it shows. This is the only place for my fur babies. I recommend Amherst Small Animal Hospital to everyone I know who has pets.
Do not go there if you love your companion. This place is very strange and seriously dangerous. I mean it!
I have been taking my beloved pets to ASAH for as long as I can remember. I don't have human babies, so my cats ARE my babies. My mom also brought her adorable long haired doxie there for all of her 15 years. Dr. Stein saved my beautiful Pandora (black long haired kitty) TWICE! Abdominal obstructions both times! I used to take my pet here, she did not like Dr. Zalenka, & when the Dr. mentioned a dental procedure that my dog needed she said you better start saving up now, and it was for a couple hundred dollars. First you do not know me or my financial situation, don't assume you know, do not make assumptions because I am a minority & my dog did not like her. Dr. Stein is very knowledgeable, experienced and friendly. Everyone at Amherst Small Animal Hospital is very helpful and efficient. It’s a very clean, professional, and well organized place. Dr. Stein not only just cares for our doggy, he also spends time to educate us about caring for pets and answers our questions, even when the questions are not related to pets (like how to prepare yourself to get into Vet school). All my fur children have been cared for by Dr. Stein and his outstanding staff. Recently, my Cassie was very ill resulting in her needing a stomach tube and her chances for successful recuperation was questionable. Through Dr. Stein's expertise and his staff of amazing clinicians, Cassie is alive and very well (and no stomach tube), The staff hovered over Cassie and they couldn't do enough to comfort my husband and I during a precarious time.
