Making the decision to travel across the country for help was a scary one. But from the moment I was picked up from the airport by Jackie, I was well taken care of. This program has changed my life for the better. I struggled in many areas of my life due to trauma that occurred over the course of my life. I was at a dead end feeling hopeless. Both my therapist Monica and EMDR therapist Julia provided a safe place for me that was without judgment, that was lead with compassion and empathy for what I had been through. I originally came to AMFM for EMDR therapy, & I remember being frustrated that it wasn’t going to happen here due to insurance forcing me to leave by day 30. However, I still was able to do alternative trauma work (IFS, highly recommend if EMDR isn’t available), adjust to life outside of my prior (& unhealthy) environment & truly make some lifelong friends I’ll forever stand by.
