We moved from Portugal to Massachusetts and were looking for a place to rent and create our new home. We found Ames Shovel Works Apartments and completely fell in love. On top of how beautiful the place is, we met Alison, who has been tireless, super helpful, super friendly, and a huge help with our move. Ames Shovel Works Apartments are charming and historical with lovely landscaping. My husband and I worked with Alison, who was professional, knowledgeable and very personable. Because of the availability and our timing, we ended up with a place elsewhere. However, based upon our experience; if the opportunity arose and the timing was right, we would come back to Ames to look for a place in a heartbeat.

I lived at Ames Shovel Works for 7 years. The staff is always extremely helpful and accessible. The grounds are always well maintained and crews worked tirelessly during the blizzard this past year to keep the parking lot clear. As most folks on here have noted, a special shout out goes to Fran, the head of maintenence. He is incredibly friendly, skilled, and knowledgeable.
