This company is a dinosaur from the 90s. I switched from a different company to save on fees. But the downgrade in the website and the process and accounting was terrible. Trouble is, once you switch it costs thousands of dollars in agonizing fees and endless paperwork to disengage. I will say, the employees are actually nice, get used to talking to them because you will need them constantly to figure out their circa 1990s website and process.
My life insurance policy is performing terribly compared to the ones I have with other companies. Would NOT recommend using them!
Requested paperwork to move my account from a minor to my own account. That was a 1 year ago.. Called and sent a letter 2 months ago.. NOTHING. Sitting on thumb in Nebraska. Give your money to a homeless man it would serve a better purpose
Been with Ameritas for about 5 years without any issues. Customer service has been great in my opinion. Their products have been concise and clear including dental, eye, and hearing benefits. I enrolled my wife as she has CHAMPVA for Life through the VA under my record. Being CHAMPVA doesn't offer dental, eye, or hearing benefits was advised that Ameritas would be a good wrap-around benefit for CHAMPVA beneficiaries. With that said. Their Dental plans are terrible. I signed up for a dental plan, 5 months later I got a couple crowns, come to find out, hidden in fine print, for "major" dental work, there is a 6 month waiting period. They paid nothing, nor informed my dentist when they checked my plan. Follow up: I did call the 800 number Ameritas provided below. I explained why I gave a bad review.
