Honestly this is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. We are on the first floor and the room reeks like a cross between mold and a foot. I can't believe the authorities have not been called on this hotel and that it continues to operate in this manner. It is a public heath risk as best. Beware!
No elevators, so ya have to carry your stuff up the stairs, next I matter how old ya are. Ok stay...use this place as a 2nd or 3rd choice.
We stayed at the AmericInn in Spencer Ia July 3 & 4th. The rooms are the average hotel room. No usb ports to charge devices so make sure you have a block. Exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work. Had noisy neighbors right next door all night! Breakfast is the usual hotel free breakfast nothing special. The staff seem ok if you can get them to look up from the counter or phones.
