It's my understanding that AVP uses a 3rd party provider to manage billing. You must pay upfront for the surgery. And even after your insurance company pays the claim, AVP's billing does not provide a refund. I paid over $4000 out of pocket on a credit card in the month of June. And after my insurance company paid the claims in June, I only owed $307 to AVP. I was told I would be refunded by July 27th. It's a week later and still no refund. AVP owes me $2,282.43 . BE AWARE! My next step is filing a formal complaint.
Not real sure about these people! My wife needed cataract surgery. Payson Eye Care told us our cost would be $100 per eye. No probs in the first eye. Cost was $100. On 7-30, I called to pay for the second surgery. Was told it was $274. I questioned the cost and Kim said she would research it and call me back on 7-31. She never did. Later in the day, my wife got a text from them saying the cost was $312. Today when I called to pay the bill, it was $412!!! Kristina couldn't tell me what the increased cost involved. Received a bill, didn't credit money paid in person. Trying pay remaing bill but no one will answer phone, no email, not even corporate. Corporate said the billing department never returns their calls either. Such a waste of time. They need to revamp billing department.
