Most honest mechanic ever! My husband thought his transmission was going out. He wanted to just buy one and put it in. No such luck on finding one. He called JR and he was very doubtful it was the trans. Said it sounded like the u joints. We bought u joints put them and VOILA no more problems. All this over the phone. I can't say how thankful I am for JR and his honesty! He saved us A LOT of money! If you ever need and honest mechanic American Transmission Exchange is the place to go!

This is a family owned and operated transmission repair shop, JR, his dad, his sister, and the rest of the staff are and exceptional group of people! I had my 1990 Chevy truck transmission rebuilt there about 6 years ago and it still runs as good as new today. My daughter had her 2004 Maxima transmission rebuilt there also about 2 1/2 years ago, an issue came up with it recently, they repaired it even though it was out of warranty because of some unforeseen circumstances, now that is customer service! ATE is an honest, quick and responsive transmission shop. Not the cheapest in town, but you get what you pay for.
Went to American Transmission to get my clutch repaired. It was shot and I needed a new one. The price was right the service was good and it was done pretty fast. I will be returning if I have any other issues with my car.
Things can not be worse than breaking down on a hot day. I called JR and they got me in right away, figured out the problem and I had my car back in no time. They were awesome about calling me with updates on my car. And they were always super friendly! Definitely a great place to go. it's nice to see a family owned company still out there!
