My American Standard PV40TLN6 power-vent water heater failed after only a few years. Two different service companies made multiple visits, and their technicians contacted American Standard for diagnostic guidance. NEVER AGAIN PLC 75-76. I installed 6 american standard water heaters, all within 2 weeks. I had to revisit every one of them due to pilot light and gas Controller failure. PLEASE NOTE, that all 6 water heaters were installed at 6 different customers. AMERICAN STANDARD CUSTOMER SERVICE JUST ISN'T THERE. Bought a 50 gallon American Standard water heater 2 years ago and had it professionally installed. Heater was manufactured at the end of 2021 so only just over 4 years old. Igniter stops working over the holiday weekend. The same service company does not have the part and can't find it. Look online and everything says the part is discontinued, not available at any supply houses. Its amazingly sad that a 3 year old water heater is worse than the one we had on the farm 30 years ago. American standard is great if you like hearing the heater run in the night but hate hot water! RIP America...
