I had an appointment scheduled and came to donate whole blood. My experience here was very good and most importantly, quick! Valeria, the phlebotomist, was kind and knowledgeable. She greated me with a beautiful smile and took really good care of me. I will definitely be back for future donations.

I arrived at 12:04 PM for my noon platelet donation appointment. After checking in, I waited roughly 40 minutes for the screening. I was informed that arriving 16 minutes late would have resulted in being turned away. Post-screening, I was initially directed to the wrong chair. When I reached the correct one, the staff seemed preoccupied with task assignments, making me consider leaving. Shauntay is such a joy and a wonderful leader/provider! She has a smile on her face always and yet, she’s incredibly skilled. Her attitude routinely is “yes, we’ll figure this out.” She and her team are heroes, day in and out.

I went to the Glendale location this morning and after my blood pressure was deemed ‘too high’ even though it was well below the Red Cross’s cut off point (180/100) I was not eligible to donate, in addition my doctor has cleared me to donate, so I’m unsure why the intake representative turned me away given the guidelines of the Red Cross. I’m very disappointed but will happily go elsewhere to donate.
