My husband and I love donating. However, the company was 40 minutes behind schedule and they didn’t provide a courtesy phone call ahead of time to let us know. We both had blocked hours out of our day to drive across town and donate, which included taking precious time away from the businesses we personally run. I hope the business can work on better time management and respecting those who try to help during crucial blood shortages. Neither of us were able to donate due to how far behind schedule they were. All of the staff and volunteers are very friendly! Everyone thanked me multiple times for coming in to donate. It was my first time and I am looking forward to the next time I can donate again.
I've donated probably 5-6 times, and I've tried to make it a habit, but it just isn't worth it. The Red Cross on Wilson is HORRIBLE. Every single time I've had an issue. Either the appointment was given to someone else, or they closed early that day, and today was the last straw... I'd recommend going to any other blood drive in town.
