Had a great experience here today. The staff were friendly and professional, and SO kind and caring when I had a reaction after donating. My inclination was to be embarrassed but everyone kept reassuring me and I felt very well taken care of. The donation experience itself was also excellent- James who was drawing my blood was so friendly and I barely felt the needle go in. The team helped me understand what had likely caused the issue and gave me tips for next time, too.
I've been donating blood since I was 16, and so when I got a call asking for platelets at a center just 20 miles away, I said "why not?" That 20 miles is actually an hour drive, but I've kept going whenever I have five hours to spare. The staff and phlebotomists are very friendly and answered all my questions. And while not every donation has gone perfectly smooth and painless, I've never had a reason to stop going.
