Staff was very attentive, explained every step of the donation procedure. Everything went smoothly.
First of all, the facility is huge and neither Apple Maps nor Google Maps takes you to the correct entrance. I spent about 20 minutes just trying to find the right door, which made me late for my appointment. When I finally walked in, the first employee who greeted me was actually very nice and asked the staff if I could still donate platelets even though I arrived about 20 minutes late. Arrived for my appointment but there was no staff to check people in and a line of people ahead of me. Not sure what the point of taking appointments is here. I will not return to this location to donate blood.
I have been donating platelets for years. I have A- blood and my veins are very deep. This has been a problem my whole life. I go to the Red Cross donation center on Rustcraft Road in Dedham, Massachusetts. I wish I knew the gentleman‘s name, the manager. I've been donating for more than a year and Maggie, Tarrell, Glori and Glenna have constantly been welcoming and amazing. I've had difficult donations in the past with other techs, but there's never an issue with this crew. I look forward to donating every time I see them.
