I really like donating platelets at the Mary Coultrap Johnson Blood and Platelet Donation Center on South Robert Street. Great staff and mostly swift check ins lead off the experience. Once on the table the care continues and I feel welcome, respected, and cared for.
Clean and comfortable. Not too many people (please donate!), and staff were attentive, encouraging, and grateful. I know Apheresis is easy for some, impossible for others. I struggle with light-headedness sometimes, and sitting still 2 hours is never easy for me, but I have promised loved ones who needed platelets that I would continue to donate at least twice each year for as long as I can.
Terrible experiences. After trying to donate 9 times and successfully donating 5 because of random “disqualifiers” that are only an issue half the time, it’s clear to me they don’t care to apply their so called standards equally.
The dedicated and hardworking phlebotomists at the St. Paul Center are the quiet heroes of our platelet donations. With steady hands and unwavering focus, they turn our guiet act of generosity into gifts that truly matter.
Great staff. Great location.
