Ambulance ride was great. The medical professionals that helped me were wonderful. The billing system is a complete scam. They bill intermittently from two different companies (AMR and Abbott EMS) with addresses in two different states, and do not include the correct information for insurance to pay for claims. After you manage to figure that out, they remain a complete scam.
Walk to the hospital! It has been an on going billing nightmare. It never ends. No one in customer service can get it right. They kept billing us. We have HMO and VA coverage. We got tired of it and paid what they said was our portion. We gave up. Weeks later they sent a refund check that they had done am audit and were overpaid. Thought we were done with it. Now we got a bill that says we owe thousands. Back to calling the useless AMR customer service our HMO and VA.

If I can give 0 stars I would! My 4-year old son was having trouble breathing and we went to a children’s urgent care via personal vehicle. After several hours working on him the physician informed me that my son was so sick he needed to go to a children’s hospital. He said he would most likely get admitted, and that we needed to take an ambulance ride over there due to his oxygen demands.
