For decades, the American Karate Institute has built a strong reputation for having an incredible Martial Arts program for kids, teens and adults. Our Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) self defense curriculum includes a winning combination of Karate, Boxing, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Judo, Taekwon-Do and Wrestling.

We have had our son at AKI for a few months and it has been one of the best decisions we’ve made. The owners are present and hands on. They are very organized and have a wonderful group of staff and instructors who know their craft. This is the best martial arts school. The most amazing and caring teachers. They put a 200 % of effort to their students. They are not only teachers, they are friends and Family.

I was a student here in the early 90s. they showed me how to be disciplined and gave me the ability to defend myself when needed. master lipsky and the others were great teachers. I remember seeing master lipsky in only the strong* it was a great feeling to say that was my instructor

25 years ago my Dad enrolled me in AKI, it was one of the best things he did for my future. The mental strength and general awareness they’ve helped instilled in me has been hugely beneficial in my professional life as well as my personal life. Learning how to defend yourself is part of the fun but there is so much more involved. My son now attends AKI and I see the same life lessons being taught to my son.
