Being the cheapest oil provider requires having a fleet of trucks to handle the volume of orders, I understand that they take your order for oil, get your credit card info and charge you 100.00 if you cancel the order, knowing that they cannot get to everyone in a timely manner with just a few trucks which is actually genius, charging 100.00 for a cancelled order without delivering a drop of oil!
Just seek service elsewhere. Yesterday their tech performed basic maintenance on oil heater. Only the oil filter needed be changed. Service took 30 minutes. Today, after the heater was on over night, woke up to oil fumes, because the heater is leaking oil. Called their emergency service like at 6:30 am, for a man to answer and tell me to call the office at 7 am, without asking what the emergency is. Their office NEVER answers calls, and orders are placed via their website, confirmed via email by someone days, sometimes weeks... read more
As owner of a small business, I know communication with customers is vital. American Fuels have us scheduled for Friday 7th, they never showed up, neither they call or message to let us know what happened, we tried to communicate with them Friday night and Saturday even to the emergency number... NO answer. Sunday night finally an email saying a lack of communication make them fail the delivery, but Monday they would deliver. I used AF services in the past two years with no issues. But last Friday (2/7) the scheduled oil delivery failed. I called them to find out what happened and let them know the critical situation I had with almost no oil. They never answered my several calls or emails on Friday night and Saturday, I even called to the emergency number they provide online, same no answer. I've been ordering my home heating oil online from American Fuels PA exclusively since April 2020.Michelle has always been responsive to my emails (24 hrs turn around). Recently I had an oil delivery scheduled for tomorrow 2/13/2025, but ran out of oil this weekend. Typically not a huge problem but the week prior I had cancer surgery.
