I received a letter saying I was prequalified for additional funds on my reverse mortgage. My original reverse mortgage was granted on an appraisal of $241,000. My home is now valued at $375,000 to $400,000. I called AFMS on Friday morning. My information was taken, and I was told a mortgage specialist would contact me before the end of the day. I WAS NOT contacted Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. I called Monday morning but had to leave a message with an answering service. It is now 4:45 pm on the same Monday and still no reply... read more

I just completed a HECM refinance with **** G and *****. I contacted a few lenders, one being my current one and told them I wanted to reduce my margin due to the projected increases in mortgage rates. All said they could do it. Of course they could while greatly increasing my Total Loan Balance with crazy costs.
