Based on the prices of silver and gold at the time, an antique coin can rise and fall in value.

From 1864-1873, the U.S. produced two-cent coins. In today’s money standards, it would be roughly $.30 for these coins because of the materials used that made it. Over 45.5 million were produced. The reason this coin came into existence was because of the U.S. acceptance of the Coinage Act.

Never try to clean an antique coin yourself as this can potentially damage it and will reduce the coin’s value. Harsh cleaning can even reduce details on older coins.
