My husband and I are in the healthcare field so we know medicine pretty well. We are in good health and don't use health insurance much. My husband's employer switched to Ameriben this year,. We did not have a choice.To be blunt, direct, and without mincing words and refraining from using very strong unpleasant language, I find this insurance a disgrace to medicine, absolutely awful and something to stay away from at all cost if you can. It is the worst health insurance we have had in our life.
AMERIBEN sucks. We( a provider) have to eat a claim since neither Ameriben nor Anthem wants to honor the claim for service. Person who flaunted this card works for EY(earnt and Young) and he essentially got service for free. Caution: If you are a provider, Do not take AMERIBEN or ANTHEM. Their practices are deceptive and dishonorable.
Only 1 because I can't give 0. The way they bring down cost is denying your claims. Lots of stuff does not go towards your deductible. You have to jump through hoops to get coverage. Most the time I just pay myself.
Terrible third party adminIs tractor. I’d rather work directly with my health insurance company as they would send EOBs via US Mail as soon as claims were processed. With Ameriben I have to wait weeks -even months - to get EOBs in the mail. I know I can get the information online, but it’s not always easy to log in. In addition, to get family members’ EOBs I have to log into multiple users; we cannot merge the family together under one account. I was originally told EOBs are supposed to be sent every 30 days.
