I think the best and most accurate review is when someone called them illegal. They triple your bill without you using higher amounts, they DO NOT honor payment agreements. I have an agreement set to pay the 15th, they disconnect my lights on the 8th anyway. And their literally response was " a payment arrangements does stop disconnection"..... yes this is was the Lead manager told me, you can set up payment, but they choose if they will honor it or not. Amerem is the absolute worst company to have service with. I manage properties and I hate when a tenant uses Ameren. As of 2027 we are applying a no ameren use. That's how bad they are. If you use Ameren electric you cant rent with us. They cause more problems for everyone around them while also taking money from people. Run!
