Actually 2.5 stars. I had a left knee replacement on March 9. Having been a home health nurse during my career I know how hard this job is. PT was good. Nursing care 2.5. It was a non medical friend who actually helped us with the ice bucket and the CRM machine. I haven’t seen or heard from my nurse in at least 10 days maybe longer. I had to change my own dressing when it became soiled. Good thing I had a lay person to help me. I have high standards for care but this experience was very disappointing. Ameracare is the best home health care agency in St. Tammany Parish. Everyone there, including their nurses and CNAs, are competent, compassionate, and always focused on their patients. They provide the very best home nursing program of any agency in the area. I highly recommend them.
