I always thought Hospice was to keep your loved ones comfortable and maybe for some hospices that's the case BUT this hospice..... is a complete JOKE. My husband has month's if we're lucky enough to live. He's in so much pain and uncomfortable and having to sit and watch it EVERY DAY is heart breaking. I do wanna say the nurses have been phenomenal but the doctor they have to go thru, doesn't care. I called AMEDISYS for my Mom and a nurse came to evaluate her. The next day I found out through Smoky Mountains medical equipment that they decide NOT to take Mom's case. First I don't know how they were told something about my Mom's medical care before the patient!! LOOKS LIKE SOME PATIENT PRIVACY POLICY BROKEN THERE, IN MY OPINION!! So, next I call AMEDISYS and the lady said it was true THEY WASN'T TAKING Mom's case!! I asked why and she said Mom was CHRONICALLY ILL BUT NOT TERMINALLY ILL!!!
