I admit I had some reservations about using Amedisys Hospice when reading reviews. But our experience was very positive. We did have a clear understanding of what hospice does and does not provide, and I think that makes a big difference. Our interactions with Amedisys employees was positive - they were understanding and friendly. We mainly dealt with the nurse and CNA, who were reliable, compassionate, and caring. They helped keep our mother comfortable during the last days of her life, for which we are very grateful.
Where do I begin? First and foremost, the medication to help my wife pass on was the wrong dosage and my wife suffered the first day home when she could’ve been comfortable had the dosage been correct. Second they delivered a hospital bed that must’ve came straight from a house that had been infested with bedbugs. Imagine how I felt administering medicine to my wife that did not ease her pain or anxiety to find bedbugs crawling all around her. The community engagement coordinator, Sandreka, is always pleasant when stopping by for marketing visits. In addition, literally ANY team member I have interacted with from Amedisys has been more than pleasant. I would highly recommend the company to loved ones and friends. Thank you for the continuous positive customer service - it’s rare these days.

This place is awful .The day my mom passed away, not one hospice caregiver was there to comfort her. I had to physically go myself to Walgreens and pick her rx up for morphine. If I had not done this my mom would have died in pain. The whole entire dying process with my mom which was about 3 to 4 days they were never present Do not use this hospice care if you care anything about your loved one. They would never show up.
