It was a horrible experience with my brother in the nursing home in Beaver county but the only comfort that we got was from the hospice nurses and when hospice took over and was so kind.... My Mother had a 8cmx5cm UNSTAGEABLE BEDSORE. Let that sink in! Patricia Thompson Amedisy NURSE stated on a Monday she was going to take my Mom OFF of her SMALL morphine dose of medication. Go elsewhere. In resent months the office staff has been less than caring, very rude, non compassionate and very dismissive when phone calls of concern are made to the office. Kim, who I spoke with dismissed all of my concerns. Nursing staff is quiting. There are no calls made when staff does not arrive. We did not have aide service for over a month with no call from the office. This is a disgrace, Hospice should be the most compassionate health care as our loved ones are dieing. Everyone who came to our home, nurses people helping with bath and anyone else were very helpful and caring to my husband and myself. They made us feel secure and comforted us when he was going through his rough time. Thank you I would recommend Amedisys Hospice to anyone who requires their care.
We signed papers with Amedisys for my Dad to receive hospice care yesterday afternoon. It has been 18 hours and they have YET to deliver his meds to help him to be more comfortable. Aren't comfort measures hospice' first priority?!?! BIG FAIL. My dad has been without ANYTHING to make him comfortable since yesterday when he left the hospital. Stay away from this company.
