My mother has been using this company after a life-threatening gastrointestinal illness and emergency surgery that resulted in an ostomy. When we chose this company for home health care, we were told they would provide ostomy education and support during her recovery. Unfortunately, our experience was inconsistent. Had Amedisys Home Health Care visiting nurses and PT to help my adult son gain strength back after falling and fracturing his left hip and pelivis..the two PTs were fantastic, caring, informative and thourgh..they assesed my son, advised a plan that my son could work with and i could help him with. They gave us printouts of his exercises that he could follow on days they weren't there. My son is still following the exercises that his PTs gave him and continues to gain strength. My husband was sent home from the hospital, after a surgery, with an order for home care nurses and PT. I week later we received a call from the nurse. I didn't even know what agency we had until she called. She came and did an assessment but no nursing care. She said a nurse would call. She left me with no paper work or folder. Two weeks later PT called. I told them we did not want their services. Five weeks later I received a text from a nurse wanting to visit! Unbelievably bad service. I use the Amedisys in Orange City, Florida. I am more than happy with this company and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs in home care, especially physical therapy, To start with, when you call them they answer the phones with a live person who can immediately help you and answer all questions including those involving insurance.
