Greed runs this company. I had an issue with my health insurance, with the wrong insurance being listed. I was told by Amedisys that they would not even schedule an appointment with me until this was cleared up, unless I was willing to give them a check for $675 for them to come to my house. Once I finally got this cleared up, I was snootily informed that I was no longer a patient with them and that I had refused PT. I refused to pay $675 for PT as I had active insurance. This led to a 3 week span of me being home with ... read more

The Nurse assigned to my mom was intrusive, didn't stay in her lane, and apparently is bad at her job because every time she alerted me that mom had low blood pressure or "crackles" in her lungs and I'd take her to the ED or Urgent Care, or regular doctor - none of it was the case. They are bossy and sometimes rude even. I will never ever work with or recommend these people. Be warned.

Do better, Amedisys Home Health, Port Charlotte. Honestly, they are undeserving of even one star. My husband got out of the hospital, and Chrisine told me to call them to resume care. When I did, they declined - no notice, no phone call, nothing. He went into the hospital with 3 infections, including MRSA, so not so sure how successful their "wound care" was anyway. My 54 YO husband suffers from Huntington's Chorea - it affects his movements and mind. It shares some similarities with ALS, dementia, and Parkinson's. They sai... read more

If I could give a zero, I would. With the exception of a couple of people who seemed to care about my husband, this company stinks. They did not provide services that were ordered by his PCP and as a consequence, I had to hire my own speech therapist for him and it cost over $5000.00. I am still trying to get my money from Medicare! They did not provide any remedy for their lack of a speech therapist or a home health aide. I also had to hire my own HHA! Some of the "therapy" services lasted no longer than 10-12 minutes... read more

It has been months since my last update. My mother is still being disgustingly overmedicated. I have been trying to talk to my mother about a new treatment pill that would shrink her tumorS so she wouldn’t be so uncomfortable. Unfortunately if you try to use any form of treatment they (hospice)threaten to take away the drugs that they’ve addicted her too. The reassurance on their part that she will die pain free is then used as a weapon against her , a fear tactic to prevent her from seeking real treatment. I had the represe... read more

The nurses they sent to help my mother who was recovering from surgery were not vaccinated for COVID. My mother who is vaccinated has decreased lung function due to a pre4existing condition and a breakthrough case might kill her. Very unprofessional.

Don’t bother working for them unless you are happy with housecleaning for work … do not expect any hours for PC or HHA ! Move on to another agency is my advice !

Under Amedisys care my father ended up in the hospital last thanksgiving with a Mersa infection. In June 2021 while under their care my father was again hospitalized this time he was septic. It took them 2 weeks and 3 tries to get an uncontaminated urine sample for a UTI. This last time I thought that I was going to loose him. What has happened to my father is unacceptable.
