Had a scheduled appointment with them, that they made the day before, to come do an inspection so I can close on a construction loan. They did not show up for the appointment nor did they bother to even call me to let me know they were not coming, so I missed work for nothing. Very unprofessional.
Appraised the home value way way below what it should have been - $30,000 less than what it should have been. I know my home is worth at the least $250k, appraisal came in at $220k Appraiser told me he had to use old comps (from 1 year to 3 years old) because we have solar panels. My bank asked him to use newer comps, even comps without solar, he told the bank that it wouldn't help. Luckily a house in my neighborhood just sold for $305k. I made my bank make him add more comps. This is the most incompetent appraiser that I know of. If you are going to have an appraisal completed, you should definitely consider asking the lender to not use him. He does not know the areas he is working in, he does not know how to make proper adjustments, and he does not fix his mistakes once made nor does he consider better options when provided to him. I wish I could give zero stars for this review.
