Excellent provider who thinks out of the box to find very effective treatment for me. Took plenty of time with me when needed, and keeps follow-up meeting short unless there have been changes or issues for me.

Staff is great! I was depressed for 20 years. She said, “we are going to fix this” which I didn’t believe. She prescribed some medicine that no one else had thought to prescribe because she listened to my whole story. I have had 0 episodes since! I have my life back. That was 2 years ago.

I saw Dr Amato for two years. On my second missed appt she said she wouldn't see me anymore. And that was that. I had forgotten about my appt and apologized. She does charge a large fee for this but that's not good enough. It's hard building a relationship with a doc and getting meds right, so for there to be no forgiveness here, I find harsh. I had to go off my meds for fear of not finding another doctor to want to help me and have been miserable ever since.

She's crazier than I've ever been. She kept adding meds until I ended up in the hospital for a week to detox. (14 meds twice a day by that time) My family found a different doc, I've been stable for several years on 2 meds low dose. If you have side effects to meds, a tricky situation, or if you want to be treated humanely, find someone else! It's worth a wait, I promise. No one should experience that, it was hell. Truly the lowest, scariest place I've ever been was while over medicated by Amato

Dr. Amato is great. As her website states, she uses a 'holistic approach'. Meaning, she encourages a healthy lifestyle (exercise, eating well, avoiding alcohol), as well as using medication.
