My treatment philosophy is education. I don't think there's anything more rewarding than empowering patients to make decisions about their health care. Taking the time to teach patients about their diagnosis and the various treatment options allows us to work as a team in order to make a care plan that they can be comfortable with. - Amanda VanDlac, MD

I was referred to Dr. Vandlac for a larger than average kidney stone stuck in my ureter. Dr. Vandlac met with me and provided all of my options. Unlike some physicians, she encouraged questions and addressed concerns. After the removal procedure of the stone, I'm feeling healthy and well. If I need a urologist in the future, I will definitely give her office a call and would recommend her.
Demeanor over a couple of visits seemed skeptical and rushed. Final straw was no show at checkup without any notice. They kept me waiting in lobby for 20 minutes before telling me she had left the building. When they reached her she tried to have me see an NP to discuss sensitive issue. Follow up apolgy call resulted in a recommendation for surgery without examining me.
Dr.Vandlac is very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and highly focused on addressing her patient’s needs. I have had several surgeries from her and all have had a splendid recovery.
Doctor spent less than 10 minutes in the room with me. Sent me for a Ct never called or scheduled any followup. I had to call their office 3 times before the PA called me back late on a Friday and only offered me a medication that might help and might not… passing me off to pharmaceutical drugs not willing to find the root of the issue or willing to do any other diagnostics to figure out whats wrong. I requested a call back from the urologist and never heard back!! Don't waste your time or money!

I felt like she was understanding with my concerns.
With both kidney stone and prostate issues, I looked at all of the urologists covered by my insurance and chose the one that I was sure was the best and asked my Primary Care Physician for a referral to Dr. Vandlac. Couldn't be happier.
I found her to be thorough, knowledgeable, direct and compassionate. Given the need for further care I will definitely return to her.
As in previous visits, Dr. VanDlac listened closely to us, provided thorough and clear assessment of my current situation, and answered all our questions with deep expertise, concision, and compassion.
I felt valued as a patient and learned what was the next steps to address my kidney stone. I felt relief and know that my treatment plan is the best course for me!
