You might as well go to notary at Fed ex or UPS. That is the extent of their knowledge on real estate transactions. Asked them for a week to send me the closing docs prior to closing, so that I could review. They couldn’t even manage to do that. The person working our file was on leave, so we got Stephanie, she is incompetent and doesn’t care. Glorified bank Notary’s is all they are, bring a lawyer with you or better off, use Stewart title for gods sake! Here is a tip Alyeska Title, don’t do assumptions anymore!
Don’t expect them to do anything more than push papers at you to sign. We asked about a detail on a contract and Stephanie rather than helping us find the document and answering our question made up an excuse that escrow details are not part of the closing documents and we need to contact our lender. Yes we should have read every word, but she also should have spoke honestly and sought an answer if she truely didn’t know. She is either a poor representative of professional integrity or incompetent at her job.
