I have used Altium since summer 09 release. I have seen some items that are difficult to understand, without training. But overall I like the flexibility of the user interface. My current company extensively uses the variant manager. Wonderful feature to have one board design with multiple load configurations and an output configuration that easily accommodates each release separately. It makes documentation easy. I have not used the drafting feature yet for assemblies, but this tool is very powerful.
The project design becomes much more easier when using Altium as it also applies system similar to embedded programming. Where all parets for a certain design are already in one file if you had used them or compiled them before.
