Does not follow its own policies Please do your research when choosing a program. My experience with Alternatives has been a devastation to my family. In 15 months there were no random UA's as promised. I have reason to believe that ours is not the only case. When Alternatives was notified of a client using and admitting to using, there were no random UA'S nor mandatory report to the court system so the offender had to practice accountability. Angry? Learned some things! I was sent to this agency by my therapist to deal with my 'anger'. I did not physically hurt people or members of my family but was always pissed at home, at work, and even with my friends. I attended an eight week class with Mr. Hammons and learned quite a bit. I found the workbook to be useful and the class was good, parts of the course were actually fun as Hammons is humorous guy. Didn't want to go, but glad I did. You get a certificate for completing the class which is pretty neat.
Rational and effective I was referred to a domestic violence class by the court and talked to several agencies in the area. I found this agency to fit my needs as other seemed biased and in some cases the individuals were just plain rude. Alternatives has no hidden or administrative fees and they are up front about what they do and what the expectations are in the program. The RT learning program is great. They may not be the cheapest in town but you get what you pay for, thanks guys. dd
Thank You! I was referred to this program by my attorney after being released from jail custody. I can honestly say I got more from the programs at this place than any other I have been to, and they are many. The MRT program gave me tools and skills I did not know. I was treated with respect and dignity-not criticized and talked to like a kid! I work hard on improving my behavior and beliefs every day.
