Not sure how I feel about this company. Janie, as mentioned in other reviews, was our main communication source but it was a team of two guys that came in to do the work. Two things of note: 1) they attempted to use a canister vacuum to suck out the ash in the fireplace but the vacuum was either defective or filthy because when they turned it on, a cloud of ash and dust was expelled to settle on my new furniture, television, and rug. ***? Janie Rickord and her team fro Alpine Chimney Sweep Inc. were friendly, professional, and efficient. Janey worked safely without scaffolding on our high roof to an older three-story home in midtown Omaha, first, tuckpointing the chimney, and then installing a new and better damper. We were very pleased wtih the work and the working relationships. A worker from a different firm looked at the tuckpointing job and commented on how good it was. Above and Beyond I called Alpine Chimney Service in Feb. 2013 at 10 pm. The gas company had shut off my furnace and said it wasn't venting at all and to call a chimney sweep. I am 85 years old and I was very unsettled. Janie from Alpine was the only one who answered at that time of night. She told me she'd put some work clothes on and come over RIGHT THEN! No Show and Day Late Call Back Recently moved into a new home and wanted to see if it was safe to use the fireplace. Called the number and spoke with a gentleman who scheduled me for a 9 am appointment on a Tuesday. I make no plans for Tuesday and await my inspector. 9:00 comes and goes, at 9:30 I call the service and get voice mail. Stay away I used their service for an inspection and was told I needed repairs that were almost $5k. I was told that she'd call back with different options and when I didn't hear back, I called and was told she'd call me right back. That was a week ago. I had another company do a second inspection and was told that there was nothing wrong. I was questioning whether she was being honest when her assistant didn't see anything until she kept insisting she did. Wonderful experience We had Alpine Chimney come and service our chimney and dryer vent. They arrived on time, were fast, friendly and knew their job. There was no mess and the price was right, what more can you ask for! We highly recommend this company.
