I am on the PTA Board at PS 3, and we offer an after-school chess program through AlphaMinds Academy. They work with students in our school in grades 1-4, and offer varying levels of instruction for students depending on their experience in chess. Their instructors are knowledgable, professional, and respectful, and develop a wonderful rapport with the students. We have enjoyed being able to offer quality chess classes to our students, and it is wonderful to see their skills progress over the 8-week sessions.
My son has been attending this school for over six years, and we’ve had a great experience. The teachers are knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. The director who runs the school does an outstanding job. They are organized, dedicated, and care about the students and families. The chess tournaments are especially well organized and run in a professional manner. We highly recommend this school to any family looking for quality math, reading, and chess classes!
The woman at the door is very rude with a bad attitude. It is very hard to imagine that a children’s chess program would employ such a person who exerts commanding attitude to everyone that steps in, shows zero compassion to kids. This woman makes parents feel like this place is a concentration camp
Very happy with Alphaminds. My daughter started during Covid times and has been part of the Singapore math curriculum from Grade 1 and now entering middle school pre algebra. She loves the teachers and has really grown her problem solving skills and does plenty of mental math with ease. Thanks to her exposure to Singapore math.
