We regularly planned and looked forward to a regular lunch stop in Vail for our favorites, fondue appetizer in the authentic cheese pot, veteran staff, the chicken vegetable soup and the brat lunch special. We appreciate that new ownership and times must change, but losing our staple dishes and the traditional atmosphere, and higher prices, leave us looking for other options and won't be back.

Location was wonderful. Waiters and owner were friendly and the food was great, though I would have liked larger portions. Be prepared to order a few extra dishes and share it all among your party members for the best experience. The Cheese Board appetizer was really good, if you’re into that sort of thing.
We had the best evening enjoying the new Alpenrose. The decor is beautiful, the drinks plentiful and the food delicious. Toby was beyond wonderful! So happy to have this gem in town.
